Milia removal is a procedure to remove small, raised, white or yellowish bumps on the skin. Milia are a type of cyst filled with keratin, a protein found in skin, hair, and nails. They are most common in newborns but can occur in people of all ages and ethnicities.
Needle extraction: A sterile needle is used to puncture the milium and remove the keratin. This is the most common method of milia removal.
Milia are not harmful and may disappear on their own. However, it is not recommended to try to remove them at home as this can cause damage, infection, or scarring.
